Northern Utah is set to experience another series of weather events as multiple Pacific systems pass through the area. Showers in the northern regions are expected to lessen by early afternoon, with daytime temperatures rising significantly, reaching up to 15 degrees above the seasonal averages. Snow levels have remained elevated, currently above 7,500 feet, and are projected to continue rising into Sunday. From Sunday through Tuesday, regions north of Interstate 80 will encounter sporadic valley rain and light mountain snow. Snow levels are forecasted to remain high, around 9,000 to 9,500 feet in the Wasatch Range by Sunday evening, which will likely restrict snowfall to higher elevations while the valleys will see minimal effects. Breezy southwest winds will become a regular feature each afternoon until at least Thursday, with gusts potentially reaching up to 35 mph, particularly in west-central Utah. This pattern will contribute to the overall dynamic weather conditions in the region. Following a brief respite early next week, a more robust Pacific storm system is anticipated to arrive on Wednesday. This storm is expected to bring extensive precipitation lasting through at least Friday. Valley areas are likely to experience rainfall, whereas snowfall will predominantly occur in the mountains, as warm air continues to maintain elevated snow levels. As Christmas approaches, forecasts suggest that the valleys of Utah are more likely to experience a wet holiday rather than a snowy one, with temperatures expected to remain well above average. Enthusiasts looking for a traditional White Christmas will need to travel to higher elevations to find snowfall.
