Funeral Plans Announced for Jeffrey R. Holland by LDS Church
The LDS Church has revealed funeral plans for President Jeffrey R. Holland, who died at 85. The public service is set for December 31.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the funeral service details for President Jeffrey R. Holland, who passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 85 due to complications from kidney disease. The funeral will take place in the historic Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City on December 31. The event will be open to the public, with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. and the service scheduled to run from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The service will be conducted by Quentin L. Cook, who was a mission companion of Holland. LDS Church President Dallin H. Oaks will preside over the funeral, which will also feature remarks from Holland's family members. Additionally, music will be provided by the Tabernacle Choir, enhancing the emotional atmosphere of the event.
The Church has indicated that admission to the funeral will be based on available space, but overflow seating will be provided if necessary. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed on the Church's official website and YouTube channel, allowing members and friends from around the world to participate in honoring Holland’s legacy.
Following the funeral service, Jeffrey R. Holland will be laid to rest in his hometown of St. George, next to his late wife, Patricia, who passed away in 2023.
