Unseasonably Warm Weather Continues Across Utah with Upcoming Storms
Utah experiences unseasonably warm temperatures, with storms bringing snow and rain this week.

Temperatures in Utah are expected to remain around 20 degrees above normal today, with near record-breaking highs projected to continue through Thursday. A Pacific low pressure system is approaching the four corners region, leading to strong winds ahead of the main storm track. Certain areas may experience wind gusts exceeding 30 mph.
In the high country, snow is anticipated, particularly in the southern mountains at elevations above 8,500 feet and the western Uinta Mountains above 9,000 feet. These regions are forecasted to receive between 6 to 12 inches of snow from Wednesday through late Thursday. Meanwhile, southern Utah, below 8,000 feet, may experience heavy rainfall.
The Weather Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk for rainfall exceeding flash flood guidance within 25 miles of a point, indicating that while flash flooding is possible, it is not highly likely.
A second, colder weather system is expected to arrive on Friday, which will lower snow levels significantly. By Friday evening, snow levels could drop to around 6,000 feet and potentially reach the valley floors by Saturday morning. This system could bring an additional 6 to 12 inches of snow to mountain areas from Friday into Saturday.
Once the second storm passes, high pressure is projected to rebuild for the last week of the year, bringing a return to more stable weather conditions. Residents are encouraged to prepare for the incoming weather changes.
