Join the Effort: Help Sub for Santa Bring Joy to Local Families
United Way of Utah County needs volunteers to support local families this Christmas season.

United Way of Utah County is seeking volunteers to assist in spreading holiday cheer during the final week before Christmas. The non-profit organization reports that there are still hundreds of families in the area who require support to fulfill their holiday wish lists.
Christmas time is particularly busy, and many families are feeling the pressure of uncertainty regarding their holiday celebrations. United Way of Utah County is currently helping close to 2,700 families. The organization aims to ensure that each child receives three to five books, two to three clothing items, and a few games or toys.
With Christmas approaching, more than 200 families remain in need of assistance to ensure a joyful holiday. Volunteers like Joy Weller contribute significantly by sorting and preparing gifts in a warehouse that resembles Santa's workshop.
Weller has been volunteering with the organization for eight years and enjoys the process of selecting gifts tailored to each family's needs. She emphasizes the importance of shopping as if it were for her own family, making the experience both personal and rewarding.
Volunteers often encounter specific requests that can pose challenges. For instance, one list may simply state the need for toys, books, and clothes. To fulfill these requests, volunteers collaborate and make use of available resources to find the most suitable gifts.
With the holiday season in full swing, the United Way of Utah County is calling for additional support. Individuals can sign up to sponsor a family or contribute financially. Both options are crucial for making a difference in the lives of local families this holiday season.
