Tragic Seven-Vehicle Accident Claims Life of 63-Year-Old in West Valley City

A tragic accident involving seven vehicles resulted in the death of a 63-year-old woman in West Valley City on Sunday night. The Utah Highway Patrol has not released the name of the victim pending notification of her family.
The incident occurred just after 8:00 p.m. on Bangerter Highway, where reports indicated that a Hyundai Tucson was driving recklessly. Witnesses stated that the vehicle was swerving between lanes at high speeds, raising concerns among other drivers.
At the intersection of 4100 South and Bangerter, the Hyundai collided with six other vehicles while stopped at a traffic light. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and officials have not disclosed any further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash.
After the collision, the Hyundai caught fire, prompting bystanders to assist the driver. They managed to pull her from the vehicle before first responders arrived on the scene. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
In addition to the deceased, another driver in a Toyota Highlander was also injured in the crash. That individual required extrication from their vehicle and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Fortunately, all other individuals involved in the accident received treatment at the scene and did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
