A woman from St. George was taken into custody after hitting a bicyclist with her vehicle at an intersection on Friday evening. Lacie Nikole Winder, 26, was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges including Driving Under the Influence and related offenses. According to booking documents from the St. George Police, the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of 1300 West Sunset Boulevard, where Winder allegedly struck a male bicyclist. Upon arrival, officers found the man unresponsive on the ground in front of Winder's vehicle. Winder informed the officers that she was delivering pizza on Sunset Boulevard and did not see the bicyclist prior to the collision. She admitted to having consumed marijuana before the incident, claiming to possess a medical marijuana card, which was later verified by authorities. However, she also stated that the marijuana she used came from Nevada, which contravenes state law. Following a field sobriety test, Winder was transported to the St. George Police Department for further interrogation. During questioning, she confessed to using marijuana at her boyfriend's residence. This led police to obtain a search warrant for the home, where they discovered various drug paraphernalia and a firearm with an obliterated serial number. The boyfriend, identified as 26-year-old Quintin Namana, was subsequently arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and related charges. As of the time of this report, the bicyclist remains on life support and reportedly shows no brain activity. Winder is currently detained without bail as the investigation continues.
