SOUTH OGDEN, UTAH – A South Ogden man has been charged with multiple serious offenses, including attempted murder and animal cruelty, following a dramatic standoff with law enforcement that left the community in shock. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Mark Thompson, is accused of firing multiple shots at his neighbors, an act that culminated in the tragic death of their family dog. The incident began late Tuesday evening when police received reports of gunfire in a residential neighborhood near 24th Street and Adams Avenue.
