Keyonte George is an American professional basketball player for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Baylor Bears. He was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2022 class.
George was born in Lewisville, Texas, in 2003. He attended Lewisville High School, where he was a McDonald’s All-American and the Naismith Prep Player of the Year. He committed to play college basketball at Baylor over offers from Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Kentucky.
As a freshman at Baylor, George averaged 17.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team and the All-Big 12 Second Team. He also led the Bears to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
George was drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 16th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He has been playing well in the Summer League, averaging 26.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
George is a versatile scorer who can shoot from three-point range and create his own shot off the dribble. He is also a good passer and rebounder for his size. He has the potential to be a star in the NBA.
