West Valley City Man Arrested for Alleged Kidnapping and Assault of Coworker
A West Valley City man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a coworker who asked for a ride.

In West Valley City, a 27-year-old man named Jhonsson Camacaro Fernandez has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a coworker. The incident occurred after the victim requested a ride to the Front Runner train station from Fernandez at the Amazon Fulfillment Center. On the night of the incident, the victim and Fernandez left the workplace together and began heading south on 5600 West.
During their drive, the victim realized that they had missed the highway exit and informed Fernandez that they were going the wrong way. This prompted an argument between the two, during which Fernandez is accused of striking the victim in the face with a closed fist, causing injury to her nose and mouth.
Despite the victim's pleas to be let out of the vehicle, Fernandez allegedly refused, instructing her to be quiet as he continued to drive. The situation escalated further when the victim noticed two police vehicles nearby in downtown Salt Lake City. At that point, Fernandez reportedly pulled over, allowing the victim to exit the car and flee to safety.
Law enforcement has stated that Fernandez now faces serious charges, including aggravated kidnapping and assault. The case is currently under investigation, and the authorities are gathering more information regarding the events that transpired during the ride. The incident raises concerns about workplace safety and the responsibilities of individuals when providing transportation to coworkers. As the legal process unfolds, Fernandez's actions will be scrutinized in court, where he will have to answer for the allegations against him.
