Weekly Police Report: Vandalism, Pursuits, and Traffic Incidents
This week’s police log includes DUI arrests, a high-speed pursuit, and incidents of vandalism.

On December 15, deputies conducted a traffic stop due to multiple violations, leading to the arrest of a driver for DUI and assaulting an officer after he spit on a deputy. A disturbance was reported on Prospect Avenue where a loud party was taking place. On December 16, a caller reported property damage after their car was hit on Park Avenue.
The following day, December 17, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver fled onto I-80 Westbound, where the vehicle eventually lost control and ended up in the trees. The driver fled on foot but was apprehended by a K9 unit. Additionally, a motorist called for assistance with a broken-down vehicle near the Marsac Ave roundabout.
On December 18, deputies arrested a driver during a stop for a registration violation when it was discovered he did not have the required ignition interlock device. Another DUI incident occurred when deputies stopped a vehicle that failed to obey a traffic control device. The driver showed signs of intoxication and was subsequently booked for DUI.
A traffic hazard was reported when a tree fell and blocked the road at Three Kings Ct. The operator of the City Park ice rink reported vandalism as someone had poked a hole in the rink liner, requiring repairs. Graffiti was also reported on the back of a Storage Deport building.
On December 19, a vehicle pursuit began after a driver failed to stop for officers. The pursuit extended from Coalville to Echo and was terminated due to weather conditions. The vehicle was eventually stopped using a PIT maneuver, and the driver was arrested on multiple charges. A hit-and-run incident was reported near Kearns Blvd, where a caller noted damage to her vehicle without a note left by the other party.
On December 20, an ID scanner was stolen from a bar on Main Street. Finally, on December 21, officers assisted a motorist stuck in the snow and addressed a report of amplified music being played on Main Street, leading to an agreement to cease the noise.
