Three Miners athletes from Park City High School sign to play college sports, including two football players and a lacrosse star.
Last week, a significant event took place at Park City High School as several Miners athletes signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. On Tuesday, Miners football player Alex Brannigan and three lacrosse players made their commitments during a special signing ceremony. Following this, on Thursday, three additional athletes joined the ranks, solidifying their plans to play college sports.
Among the athletes who signed were football stars Eli Warner and Parker Jones, who will be taking their talents to Tufts University and Johns Hopkins University, respectively. Additionally, girls lacrosse standout Coco Crawford committed to Florida Southern College.
Eli Warner, a running back, amassed over 4,000 total yards and 46 touchdowns throughout his high school career. Parker Jones, a cornerback, recorded six interceptions and 62 total tackles during his time with the Miners. Coco Crawford, playing as a midfielder, scored 119 goals and provided 22 assists, and she plans to return to the field for the Miners in the spring.
The signing was surrounded by family, friends, and teammates, creating a supportive atmosphere for the athletes as they embarked on this new chapter.
Parker Jones expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play at a prestigious institution, noting his desire to pursue a pre-medical path at Johns Hopkins. He acknowledged the influence of his family and coaches in helping him reach this milestone.
Eli Warner echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of football in his life and the excitement of signing with a college program. He appreciates the support of his family and coaches who have contributed to his development as an athlete.
Coco Crawford, too, is thrilled about her commitment and aims to represent West Coast lacrosse on the East Coast. She highlighted the lack of lacrosse popularity in her region and expressed her enthusiasm for showcasing her skills at Florida Southern College.
Overall, the signings reflect the strength of the Miners' athletic programs, with both football and lacrosse showing promising talent and dedication among their athletes.
