Park City, Utah – Park City Mountain officials have announced plans for significant upgrades to key lift infrastructure as part of a broader initiative to improve the guest experience at one of the largest ski resorts in North America. The proposed enhancements aim to modernize aging lift systems and reduce wait times for skiers and snowboarders eager to explore the resort's expansive 7,300 acres of terrain. Community feedback has highlighted concerns regarding lengthy lift lines, prompting Park City Mountain's Vice President and COO, Deirdra Walsh, to emphasize the importance of these upgrades. "When I engage with community members and visitors, the common frustration I hear involves the lift lines at both the base area and on-mountain lifts. No one wants to waste time waiting when there is so much to enjoy on the mountain," Walsh stated. The proposed upgrades include the replacement of the Eagle and Eaglet lifts, both of which have been in operation for over 30 years. The new six-person lifts will not only modernize the experience but also enhance access for ski and ride school participants, ultimately alleviating congestion at adjacent lifts such as First Time, Payday, and Crescent. Additionally, the Silverlode Express lift will be upgraded from a six-passenger capacity to an eight-passenger capacity, further improving access to mid-mountain terrain and amenities.
