Ogden's Christmas Village Ranked Among America's Top Holiday Celebrations
Ogden's Christmas Village is named the second-best holiday celebration in the U.S. by USA Today, attracting many families each year.

OGDEN, Utah - Ogden's Christmas Village has become a cherished tradition for many families during the holiday season. This year, it received recognition as the second-best Christmas celebration in the country according to USA Today. The village is a free attraction featuring hundreds of thousands of lights and over 60 cottages decorated by local organizations and businesses. Craig Bielik, chair of Ogden's Christmas Village, emphasizes the communal effort in creating this festive environment, stating it is truly a village experience that allows families to create lasting memories.
For many, visiting the Christmas Village is an annual tradition. The Canning family, for example, enjoys decorating cookies and visiting the village every Christmas Eve. Bielik describes the event as "Christmas magic" and highlights its significance in bringing the community together. The extended hours this year, opening at 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve, were implemented to accommodate the large crowds, especially considering the unusual weather. Bielik noted that warmer temperatures have attracted more visitors, contrasting with typical ski resort conditions.
The charm of snow contributes to the attraction, but the milder weather has made it easier for families to enjoy the festivities without needing heavy winter clothing. The Canning family looks forward to this holiday experience each year, which provides entertainment and keeps the excitement alive for their children as they await Santa's arrival.
Ogden's Christmas Village will remain open on Christmas Day from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will continue to welcome visitors every night through New Year's Day from 5 p.m. to midnight. The event serves as a delightful holiday gathering for families and individuals, fostering a sense of community during this special time of year.
