Ogden police have apprehended a 21-year-old man, Skyler AJ Rose, who is accused of making threats against synagogues and possessing homemade explosives. The arrest took place on Tuesday following a tip-off to the police regarding antisemitic remarks made by Rose on his X account (formerly Twitter). The tipster provided the username associated with the threats, which included alarming statements such as 'I wanna blow up a synagogue.' Upon investigation, officers contacted residents at the address linked to Rose. Family members confirmed his identity as the user of the account in question. With consent from the family, police entered the home and conducted a search of Rose's room. Inside, they discovered a metal pipe bomb and a glass container with marijuana. Following this initial find, detectives obtained a search warrant to further investigate the premises. The search revealed that the metal pipe bomb was in the process of being assembled. Additionally, investigators located six other homemade bombs throughout the home. These additional devices appeared to be fully operational and completed. In the same bedroom where the explosives were found, police also discovered an assault rifle. Skyler AJ Rose is now facing multiple serious charges, including prohibited dangerous weapon conduct, manufacturing a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a controlled substance, and making threats of terrorism. As of now, he is being held in custody without the possibility of bail. The situation has raised significant concerns within the community regarding safety and the potential for violence, prompting increased police vigilance in the area.
