TEDxParkCity Women on Feb. 10 features inspiring speakers sharing impactful ideas in healthcare, entrepreneurship, and filmmaking.
The TEDxParkCity Women event is set to take place on February 10, 2026, at the Waldorf Astoria Park City, promising an enriching experience filled with inspiration and innovative ideas. This all-day conference, starting at 9 a.m., will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Tatyana Kanzaveli, Phyllis Robinson, and Abby Ellis. Each of these speakers brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience from diverse fields, including healthcare, entrepreneurship, and filmmaking.
Teri Orr, the founder of TEDxParkCity, expressed her gratitude to the Waldorf Astoria for hosting the event, noting that it provides a welcoming atmosphere for attendees to engage with pioneering ideas. "We appreciate the Waldorf stepping in and inviting us to be in that space," she stated. Orr, who has been organizing TEDx events since 2009, is dedicated to fostering dialogue that sparks meaningful change in the community.
The event will kick off with a light breakfast, setting an inviting tone for the day. Following this, attendees will hear from Tatyana Kanzaveli, the CEO of OpenHealth, a groundbreaking healthcare communications and consulting firm. Kanzaveli, who was once a chess prodigy, has made significant contributions to technology and healthcare, particularly in the Bay Area. Orr shared her admiration for Kanzaveli, stating, "She is an amazing human who lives in the Bay Area… her super brain helped some of those guys from Google and Facebook."
Kanzaveli’s OpenHealth network aims to provide individuals with access to reliable health information. Users can log onto the network to find answers to their health concerns, although it does not facilitate direct communication with doctors. Orr emphasized the importance of this platform, highlighting its role in promoting health literacy among users.
Next on the agenda is Phyllis Robinson, the founder of Tandem Chocolates and an award-winning entrepreneur. Robinson’s journey began with a passion for confectionery inspired by her mother’s holiday traditions. After a career in city management in Park City, she decided to pursue her passion for chocolate-making. "Abby started a cottage business called Tandem Chocolates, and tandem came from the love she and her husband had for riding bicycles," Orr explained. Robinson’s commitment to sustainability is evident in her business model, which focuses on reducing carbon footprints and supporting the community by employing individuals who have aged out of foster care.
The final speaker of the day, Abby Ellis, is a Peabody and Emmy award-nominated filmmaker whose recent project, "The Lake," premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The film garnered the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Impact for Change, showcasing Ellis’s talent and dedication to impactful storytelling. As a native of Utah, her participation in the event is particularly meaningful. Orr mentioned that securing Ellis for the event was challenging due to her rising popularity following the film’s success, but with the help of fellow producer Geralyn Dreyfous, they were able to include her in the lineup.
The day’s events are designed to foster engagement and dialogue among attendees. After each talk, there will be breaks for snacks and networking, allowing participants to connect and share their thoughts. Orr’s vision for the event is to create an atmosphere of curiosity and inspiration. "I want it to have some of the flavors I have been able to experience with Big TED," she said, emphasizing the importance of creating a diverse and engaging program that encourages attendees to think critically and explore new ideas.
The TEDxParkCity Women event not only aims to inspire those in attendance but also to create a sense of community among people who share a passion for innovation and social change. Orr curates the program with the intention of introducing speakers and ideas that resonate with her own interests, hoping that others will find value in them as well. "I curate for myself, and I hope people like it," she remarked.
In summary, TEDxParkCity Women promises to be an enriching experience, showcasing the talents and insights of remarkable women who are making significant contributions in their fields. With a focus on health, entrepreneurship, and storytelling, the event is set to inspire attendees to engage with new ideas and foster meaningful conversations.
