As the 2025/26 ski season unfolds, Deer Valley Resort is ready to welcome winter sports enthusiasts with a vibrant après ski scene that promises something for everyone. With three distinct après options now open—Chute Eleven, The Sticky Wicket, and Edgar’s Après—guests can indulge in a variety of experiences that cater to different tastes and preferences. Director of Beverage Josh Hockman emphasizes the resort's commitment to providing a unique experience for all visitors, stating, "We want to provide something for everybody. Different people enjoy their day on the mountain in different ways." Chute Eleven, the newest addition to Deer Valley’s après offerings, is housed in a stylish yurt located just outside the Empire Lodge. Opened last season, this venue has quickly become a favorite for those looking to unwind after a day on the slopes. Hockman notes that the team plans to maintain the successful formula from last year, focusing on a seamless service experience. "A wash, rinse and repeat of last season... we feel a lot more comfortable in our workspace since we already did it for four months," he explains. Visitors to Chute Eleven can expect a sophisticated menu featuring champagne and seafood towers, caviar bumps, and even a lobster and caviar grilled cheese sandwich, all designed to pair perfectly with the selected Laurent Perrier champagne. The ambiance is described as "mountain chic," complete with soft leather couches, fur rugs, and elegant light fixtures, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests looking to relax and socialize. This season, Chute Eleven is introducing a live DJ lineup known as Slopeside Sets, with performances tailored to the weekend's crowd. Hockman elaborates on the planning process, stating, "We’ll bring in different caliber DJs depending on the busyness of the town," indicating a commitment to enhancing the overall après experience. Chute Eleven operates from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday, making it a convenient option for those looking to enjoy some post-ski festivities. The Sticky Wicket, located on the loft level of Royal Street Cafe, is Deer Valley’s first bar exclusively for guests aged 21 and older. This vintage ski-themed bar features a nostalgic atmosphere filled with memorabilia from the 1970s and 1980s, including vintage skis and photographs. The interior is designed to evoke the spirit of the early days of skiing, complete with an old TV playing classic ski movies. Hockman emphasizes the bar's fun and dynamic atmosphere: "We wanted to have fun," he says, noting that the menu includes playful offerings like shot skis and colorful cocktails, including the whimsical “Lavender Disco Party.” New interactive features this year include an old-fashioned payphone that plays ’80s songs based on the number dialed and a Guinness bell challenge, where guests can ring the bell after completing the classic Guinness drinking challenge. Additionally, the menu is expanding to include chicken wings, marking a first for the resort. Hockman expresses enthusiasm for this addition, stating, "We’re going to crush it on wings." The Sticky Wicket is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. but advises patrons to plan their rides back down the mountain accordingly. For families or those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, Edgar’s Après offers a family-friendly dining experience located at the top of Snow Park Lodge. This venue transforms from a cozy dining space to a lively après ski bar in the afternoons, expanding to accommodate a larger crowd as the day progresses. Hockman notes that Edgar’s was the first venue at Deer Valley to incorporate multiple TVs, catering to sports fans and those looking for a casual dining experience. Every Saturday, guests can enjoy live bluegrass music from the band The Proper Way, enhancing the après ski vibe. Overall, Deer Valley Resort’s après ski options emphasize variety and inclusivity, allowing guests to find the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the slopes. Hockman highlights the different styles of each venue, making it easier for visitors to choose the atmosphere that fits their mood. Whether seeking a sophisticated experience at Chute Eleven, a lively gathering at The Sticky Wicket, or a family-friendly option at Edgar’s, Deer Valley has tailored its offerings to ensure that every guest leaves with memorable experiences. As the ski season progresses, the resort continues to adapt and enhance its offerings, maintaining its reputation as one of the premier ski destinations in the region.
