Cedar City police have arrested a 32-year-old man, Nathan Jered Kennedy, following an incident where he allegedly rammed his vehicle into another car after a dispute at a nearby gas station. The arrest occurred on Friday and Kennedy is now facing multiple charges including reckless driving, disorderly conduct, and property damage. Officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident after receiving reports of a collision. Upon their arrival, they discovered that one vehicle had struck another. According to the victim's account, a verbal altercation had taken place between him and Kennedy at the gas station prior to the incident. The victim indicated that following the argument, he left the station, but was soon approached by Kennedy, who was yelling and subsequently swerved into his vehicle. A witness who observed the interaction at the gas station corroborated the victim's version of events, stating that they did not provoke the argument and had simply driven away. The witness also noted that Kennedy appeared agitated, exhibiting erratic behavior by striking his own vehicle before pursuing the victim. Concerned for safety, the witness decided to follow Kennedy in their own vehicle while contacting the authorities. During the investigation, police spoke with Kennedy, who claimed that he did not intentionally collide with the other car. He mentioned wanting to have the final word during the exchange, which led to a loss of control. However, officers reviewed video footage which reportedly showed Kennedy driving next to the victim's vehicle before swerving into the adjacent lane and hitting it. The evidence gathered will play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
